About Me

Who I Am

I’m Hubert Kalinowski—a builder at heart who thrives on turning scattered systems into something clear, useful, and scalable. My journey began in enterprise software consulting, where I learned to tame complexity and design solutions that make people’s lives easier. But I found my real spark when I launched One Brick Road, my own global e-commerce business, and discovered the power of operational efficiency and smart data.

Why I Build

After years of working on large-scale software implementations, I wanted to get closer to the action—not just configure tools, but shape the entire system. That drive led me to bootstrap One Brick Road, where I built everything from the ground up: supply chain, finance, customer experience, and more.

One of my favorite challenges? Finding leverage points that create outsize results. You can see how I used the Pareto Principle (80/20 Rule) to focus on what really mattered—maximizing margins and simplifying operations.

What I’ve Built

In just one year, I scaled One Brick Road to 8,500 units sold across 7,200 orders, serving customers in every U.S. state and over a dozen countries. From negotiating with global suppliers to building custom analytics tools, I wore every hat—and learned what it takes to build systems that last.

Beyond Work

Off the clock, I’m usually in the middle of a new obsession—teaching myself to DJ, perfecting a recipe, or exploring a side project that catches my imagination. I thrive on building things that bring a little more joy, surprise, or simplicity into everyday life.
